Refund and Returns Policy

At Picchumachu, we are committed to providing exceptional travel experiences. Our cancellation and refund policy applies to all bookings of tours, activities, transportation, and tourism-related services purchased through our website or authorized channels.

Please read this policy carefully before making a reservation.


1. Cancellations by the Customer

Customers may request cancellations under the following conditions:

✔ 1.1. Free Cancellation (if applicable)

Some tours allow free cancellation if done within 24–48 hours before the scheduled departure.
(You can define the time you want: 24h, 48h, 72h.)

✔ 1.2. Cancellations within 30 days

If cancellation is made within 30 days of the tour date, you may be eligible for a partial refund, depending on the service provider and availability.

❌ 1.3. Non-refundable services

Certain tourism services are non-refundable, including:

  • Tickets for Machu Picchu

  • Train tickets

  • Entrance fees to archaeological sites

  • Government-issued permits

  • Last-minute bookings

  • Promotional or discounted tours

These are governed by strict third-party policies and cannot be refunded.


2. No-shows

If the customer does not show up on the day of the tour, no refund will be provided, regardless of the reason.


3. Late Arrivals

If passengers arrive late and miss the tour departure, transportation, train, or scheduled activity, the service is considered consumed, and no refund applies.


4. Modifications to the Booking

Changes to tour dates or passenger information depend on:

  • Availability

  • Service provider policies

  • Government rules (for permits and tickets)

Some modifications may involve additional fees.


5. Cancellations by Picchumachu

We reserve the right to cancel a tour for reasons beyond our control, including but not limited to:

  • Severe weather

  • Road closures

  • Strikes

  • Safety concerns

  • Government regulations

● If Picchumachu cancels the tour:

You may choose between:

  • A full refund
    or

  • Rescheduling to another available date


6. Refund Process

Once the cancellation is approved:

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method

  • Processing time varies by bank or payment provider

  • Refund confirmation will be sent by email

If delays occur:

  1. Check your bank account

  2. Contact your bank or card provider

  3. If still unresolved, contact us at sales@picchumachu.com


7. Gifted Tours

If a tour was purchased as a gift:

  • If marked as a gift at checkout → the recipient receives a credit

  • If not marked as a gift → refunds go to the original purchaser


8. Travel Insurance (recommended)

Picchumachu strongly recommends that all travelers purchase travel insurance, which may cover:

  • Cancellations

  • Medical emergencies

  • Lost or delayed baggage

  • Weather-related trip interruptions


9. Return Policy for Physical Items

If your business also sells physical products (optional section):

Physical items must be returned in unused condition and original packaging.
Non-returnable products include digital downloads, gift cards, and personal items.
